My First Dose of Moderna Experience
Hello Everyone! Today this blog is going to be different. In this blog, I am sharing my experience and the side effects of getting the Moderna vaccine for COVID-19. Everyone has their opinions about it getting the vaccine. I am a believer in vaccines. My career background is in the medical field, hence why I am for vaccines. In my state, we are already started phase 1B. I fall under that category. Anyways on with the blog.
On January 16th, I received my first dose of Moderna. The Pharmacist explained that my arm will be sore and in little pain. When the pharmacist administered the vaccine it didn't hurt or sting like the HPV vaccine. They told me to keep moving my arm to prevent soreness, etc. I went through the whole day with bearable soreness in my arm and minor pain at the injection site. Towards the evening, my soreness and pain increased. I was toss and turning all night. I woke up at 3 AM from the pain. That's when I took Tylenol, and it took a couple of minutes to kick in. After that, I was able to fall asleep for only 4 hours. The next day I was super tired and experiencing pain at the injection site. That entire day I took about 3 Tylenol's. On the second day, the pain became bearable again but still sore. That whole day I took only one Tylenol. On the third and fourth day's the pain was decreasing. Finally, on the fifth day, all the soreness and pain went away.
I've always experienced soreness when I get vaccines, but not like this Moderna vaccine. Research says that the second dose is worse than the first one. They say you will experience flu like symptoms. I am not looking forward to that, but it has to get done. I am a firm believer in "your body your choice". I was super iffy about getting the vaccine because I felt rushed. I sat down and researched medical websites and creditable resources. Don't believe what you see on social media or those people that create theories. Those people didn't specialize in the medical field. Keep in mind. I am a firm believer in every vaccine! It is your choice for this vaccine.
