DIY: Copper Makeup Brush Holder

Copper Time

Hey, have you ever been obsessed or had a copper phase? At this current moment, I'm experiencing an obsession with copper, I decided to buy some copper spray paint and spray my makeup brush holder. The type of spray paint I bought was Rust-oleum copper hammered paint for about $6. I bought a black pencil holder from target for a dollar. Those are those two materials that you will need to do and a clothes hanger. I took this spray painting job outside because when I do art actives it's just one big mess.

  1. I washed the black pencil holders to remove the price stickers underneath them. ( I have two because I was doing my sister one was well)
  2. After that, I dried them and let them air dry for about 5 minutes.
  3. You will need a clothes hanger and stretch the hanger hook. Put the stretch hook through the holes on the pencil holder then hang it up.
  4. As you are finished hanging the pencil holder, you can get started on spray painting the copper on it.
  5. I'm not an expert on spray painting but the technique I used was spray up and down but not close because the paint will drip ( it will dry like that.)
  6. To get the bottom of the pencil holder held the clothes hanger at an angle for I see. Then I started to spray paint again up and down.
  7. After step 6, I let the paint dry for 30 minutes and started the second coat.
  8. Lastly, when you are done move the pencil inside because you want to keep an eye them or in my case my dogs won't destroy them.

This spray paint I bought it took about a day and a half to complete dry.
Thank for reading this blog post. I hope it was helpful and inspire to create your own.
